Craft Beer and Breweries

Craft beer enthusiasts will be delighted with the locally crafted beers and the selection of beers on tap at bars and beer gardens in Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa Island.

Props Brewery in Fort Walton Beach

Three Air Force veterans, along with a partner with years of restaurant experience, founded Props Brewery in Fort Walton Beach. Each beer crafted at Props Brewery is a nod to an iconic plane, squadron, or military aesthetic. Their selection of beer on tap is all brewed in-house and at their larger brewery, which is located in nearby Mary Esther.

The best way to get to know them is to try one of their four signature beers: Blonde Bomber Ale, Flying Coffin IPA, Four Kings Lager, and Prop Oil Porter. Props Brewery menu items are each paired with one of their beers, and some of their menu items are also cooked with their beer. The Four Kings Brown Ale finds its way into both their bratwurst and Brown Mustard, and the resulting combination is a bold craft beer inspired plate of mouth-watering goodness.

Destin Brewery

Established in 2015, Destin Brewery delivers a wide selection of craft beer to Florida’s Emerald Coast. This cozy craft brewery welcomes patrons with excellent service and a laid-back atmosphere. Their primary choice features a variety of India pale ales made with unique blends consisting of fruit, peppers, and hops. For lovers of the IPA, their mango habanero IPA is a warm glass of summer with a mild hint of spice at the end of every sip. They also serve up a rich collection of stouts and ales, but their signature Destin Ale is the epitome of drinkability. This smooth, light ale combines flaked oats and pilsner malts to create a great tasting, flavorful ale.

Each beer brewed at Destin Brewery is named after Destin’s iconic locations or famous local people with names such as Emerald Köast Kölsch, East Pass IPA, and Hot Mama Scott. An added bonus is all Destin Brewery beers are canned rather than bottled. Canning helps preserve flavor without additives and is more suitable for drinking on golf courses, boats, and on the beach where glass bottles are not allowed. Try these beach-friendly brews during your visit!
