Event Sponsorship & Paid Media Request

Sponsorships

Requests for sponsorship of a local event, including a sporting event, must be submitted 120 calendar days prior to the event in writing. This ensures the convention and visitors bureau (CVB) will have adequate time to market the event.

Events sponsored by the CVB must be open to the public. An appropriate sponsorship level, e.g. funding amount, will be determined based on the available budget funds and the following factors:

  • Extend to which the event showcases the destination
  • Seasonality
  • Target audience (e.g. demographics, geography, reach)
  • Success rate as shown by results from prior year or similar event
  • Ability to document out-of-market attendance through room nights generated

Documentation of room night pickup associated with the event, and subject to the Okaloosa County tourist development tax, are required for any sponsorship requests over $20,000. If logo’d promotional materials are produced with sponsorship funds, prior CVB approval is required before production. All sponsorships are subject to Tourist Development Council approval.

Paid Media for Local Events

Paid media, defined as paid print, broadcast or digital placement, is available for local events. These events must be open to the public and request for paid media must be submitted 120 calendar days prior to the event in writing.

Paid placements specific to an event are evaluated based on available budget funds and the following factors:

  • Extend to which the event showcases the destination
  • Seasonality
  • Target audience (e.g. demographics, geography, reach)
  • Success rate as shown by results from prior year or similar event
  • Ability to document out-of-market attendance through room nights generated
